If you pack a bento box carefully - you have about the same number of calories as there are milliliters in the box. An adult woman like me will use a 500-600 ml box.

Omisoka is Japanese for New Year's Eve. People prepare by doing a very thorough house cleaning. Part of the celebrations that evening often include eating toshikoshi-soba noodles or toshikoshi-udon noodles. The noodles are long representing long life.
