Bento Boxes are great to help keep your New Years Resolutions!

I know I'm not the only one who put on some pounds over the holidays. I'll be using bento boxes for my lunches to help with portion control. It really helped me last year!

If you pack a bento box carefully - you have about the same number of calories as there are milliliters in the box. An adult woman like me will use a 500-600 ml box.

I have bento boxes available in my Etsy store as a part of lunch bag sets like these:
Cute Kitties and Dragonflies Bento Box and Bag Gift Set
Pink Bento Box, Lunch Bag in Upcycled Rainbow Stripes

Happy Snow on Red Bag / Polar Bear Bento Box Gift Set

And I also have boxes available individually here on this site - Premium Bento Boxes (Gel-Cool to help keep your lunch cool) and regular Bento Boxes.

Bento is the hottest lunch craze for so many good reasons!
- Bento lunches don't have to be Japanese to be healthy - but make you think about what you're putting into your lunch.
- They're great for helping you realize how much you really need to eat. (As an American - I'm used to "Super Sizing" everything, when it's NOT what I need.)
- I like to pack them for my son. It's so much better for him than the highly processed foods in school lunches.

Check it out and consider bentos to help with your New Year's resolutions!

Omisoka is almost here! We're Celebrating with a Sale!!!

The kadomatsu is a traditional decoration for the new year holiday.Omisoka  is Japanese for New Year's Eve.  People prepare by doing a very thorough house cleaning.  Part of the celebrations that evening often include eating toshikoshi-soba noodles or toshikoshi-udon noodles.  The noodles are long representing long life.

What are you doing for New Year's Eve? We'll be hanging out with friends and recovering from Christmas. I'm planning on resolving to shed the pounds I gained from being unable to resist my mom's Christmas cookies! (She loves me and made a TON of cookies! Eeep!)  You can bet I'll be using my bent boxes as portion control!

As part of the celebrations Ojamiya (here and our Etsy store) we'll celebrate with a sale from December 28, 2009 to January 2, 2010! Use the coupon code OMISOKA to get 20% off your order.

We'll be adding new products here too - the shipment should be here 12/29 and I'll be photographing as fast as possible!

Happiness to you on the dawn of a New Year!
